Designer Irja Lembra
Hello,
I’m Irja Lembra, the designer behind ME knit. I graduated in fashion design from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 2001 and then worked from 2001 to 2008 at the Estonian companies Sangar and Norrison – which gave me a strong grounding in both production and design.
For the past 15 years I have run Top Kudum, a small knitwear company that makes knitwear for designers in Sweden, Finland and Estonia. It was this experience that gave me the confidence and the skills to create my own brand, where I can give my creativity free rein.
My work has been shown at the Estonian Fashion Festival in four different collections – “Feel Good” (2020), “Textures” (2021), “Lummus” (2024) and “SOE” (2025).
Long production experience
Top Kudum is ME knit’s production company, with more than 28 years of experience in making knitwear. Years of work with hand-operated knitting machines and a deep feel for materials give a solid foundation for the quality of every piece. That experience does not stay in production alone, but lives on in the ME knit brand — in every shape, texture and detail.
Technical precision
We make our knitwear on professional hand-operated knitting machines, where technical precision and our knitters’ many years of experience create a high-quality, well-fitting result.
Quality materials
We use merino yarns of different weights and character, which give each piece its own unique look. Merino wool is naturally soft, warm and kind to the skin, offering both comfort and timeless quality.
