Care Guide

A quality knit made from natural materials is a lifelong investment and needs the right care. The guidance below will help you look after it.

Good to know

Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and regulates moisture. With the right care, your ME knit piece will last for years and only get softer over time.

1

Don’t wash too often

Merino wool is self-cleaning — it breathes and doesn’t hold on to odours. Usually it is enough to air the knit.

2

Hand wash in cool water

If it needs washing, use cool water and a wool detergent. Don’t use ordinary washing powder.

3

Soak for up to 10 minutes

Don’t rub hard. Rinse gently in clean water until all the detergent has been rinsed out.

4

Don’t wring

Roll the knit gently in a dry towel and press the water out. Never wring a knit.

5

Dry flat

Carefully reshape the knit and lay it on a dry towel or a drying rack. Don’t hang it up, as wool stretches easily.

6

Avoid heat

Don’t put knitwear on warm surfaces — too much heat can damage the fibres and cause shrinkage.

7

Store it properly

As wool stretches easily, it is best to keep knitwear folded in a drawer or on a shelf. Don’t hang it on a hanger.

8

Loose yarn ends

If a yarn end comes loose, you can easily pull it back to the inside of the knit with a crochet hook.

9

Pilling

Merino wool items may develop light pilling. It is easy to remove with a special comb or a fabric shaver.
